After several posts on here and after trying out many makes including Albion, Passier, Bates, Wintec... different saddlers and different opinions... I think I have finally found my ideal saddle... an Amerigo Cervia! Tried out several different Amerigos including the Vega and Cortina, but when we tried out the Cervia, Risby's trot became naturally more cadenced and energetic, the difference was quite astonishing, I didn't realise a saddle could make so much difference. It puts you in a really good position, nice and upright with the stirrups hanging reasonably far back. He's not the easiest to fit with very high withers and a long back, but the saddle doesn't move on him at all (most others have some movement at the back).
I borrowed money out of my Emergency Funds as hadn't expected to buy one today as had given up hope! Totally justified I think you will agree
Just thought I'd recomend something for a change rather than moan
I would highly recommend Joanna Dillon who is the Southern rep for Amerigo, very thorough, she has fitted saddles for Carl Hester.
