Thanks guys, EB - he is a good old fashioned stamp, just a shame he thinks he's a TB at times (he can spook with the best of them!)

What would you say to his confo? I would think his front pasterns are a little long and he's very slightly ewe necked although I like his hocks and length of rein? I'm trying to remember all my confo lessons from college!!

ETA: MiCsarah he has recommenced his "boot camp" after a week off, luckily loads of hills round here!

Pasterns are fine - they look short to me but I'm used to TB's and arabs - just perfect for a cob of his type. He does have a good length of rein and a slightly long back. Slightly back at the knee in that photo and I also would like him to be muscled up more.

He looks lovely and he sounds fun too. :)

Yes working on the muscle as we speak as getting him fit for hunting at the end of September. Would you rather have over or back at the knee?

ETA: here is him when fit (although a little fat!) :)

He looks a little long in the back and a little camped out behind but that is quite common in cobs with draft blood. I'd also like to see more topline. But generally a nice picture.

Not sure if he looks long-backed or short-legged... but either way I'm a big fan of the slightly dachshund-like horse my OH shares... and there is less far to fall! :-)

I personally, would rather see him with a mane though... looks all wrong to have such a sweet looking animal dressed as a skin-head however 'correct' it is!

No expert but condition-wise I think he looks a good weight for his build.

And that you're very lucky!

What do you mean "camped out behind"? Also it's been estimated by several different people that they think he is shire x welsh?

Aww thanks Tickles - I am very lucky, he's such a dude!

I would rather have one that is over, but your boy really isn't that far back - so I wouldn't even worry about it. :)

I like him with all his fluff, but he does look smart clipped out and it'll be a lot easier when taking him hunting.

We're working on it! lol but until he's consistently moving forwards there is no point asking for a proper outline :)

Hunting on Sunday so that may help haha :D
