Looking at the puppy pics made me want one too...but looking at the adult pics they are such high energy dogs I am happy to enjoy your pics..:)
Absolutely beatiful dogs!

Thanks, all. They are somewhat painful if they haven't been out by 11, but this high energy myth makes me laugh! One is being my iPad rest, one is on the bed, one is waiting for scraps in the kitchen. If we get up early, they barely look up!

Puppies are so cute, espeically spanner pup, but my favourite photo is of the two of them playing. Lovely.

Re high energy "myth" ..I imagined they would need more than a total of two hrs a day...my little schnauzer and st poodle get an hr in the morning and an hr in the evening...would this suit a springer? I've followed yr posts and thought your dogs had much more than this..

They're trained every time we go out. They go out for under an hour then they're fine. We interact with them a lot and they're used to our routine. Bear and Brig are very calm dogs. Zak needs more stimulation and will bring a toy to play if he still has energy. They do get worn out with a great deal of swimming or having to use their brain when out. Occasionally, I take the B boys to the woods and they run and run.

They never have two hours. Maybe it's because they are directed and run to retrieve or find the ball/dummy, but when they start to lie down in the shade, they've had enough. Saying that, they would swim all day and never stop. It's just the training that wears them out, although the originals in the puppy pics had far more stamina or knew how to pace themselves. Brig never gallops, he trots round. Waiting for kick off in the woods:

Lovely boys. I may be biased but think spaniels are the cutest of all puppies!!

We have 2 springers. Tiring them out is nothing to do with length of walk - ours get half an hour off the lead at the park in the morning and an hour max of training in the eve. Today though they've just done the one walk and are snoozing away. It's all about mental stimulation for them and giving them a job to do.

Thankfully the older of the two really mellowed out once she turned three - the other is just one and can be slightly deranged if allowed to be 😃

They are just he loveliest, happiest dogs, and so so trainable and desperate to please. I adore them 😃
