Having been stuck in their stables for days now due to the ice outside their stable doors and the walkway to the paddocks, woke up this morning to find all the ice finally gone, so the mares were finally able to get out. Considering they'd been in for a number of days, thought they would have gone berserk but all as good as gold. Didn't want to take the risk over the past few days in having them slip over and damage themselves, so thought they safer in than out. Rumour is that the snow and ice are coming back again next week though! Better get them all out whilst we can. Thank goodness we've not got January foals due next year, mind you, when we've had them born in January the weather has always been better than for those mares due a month or two later. Hope all your horses are well and no accidents with the way the recent weather has been.
