Had the vet out today for Spiders check up and he was very pleased with how she was moving, she was given the all clear basically and said you would never know there was a problem there before

He checked her teeth and they are very very sharp so they will be treated soon.

So she is now ready to have her baby!

She has her first scan booked for the end of March, so will continue to ride her in the hackamore and get her teeth done then as well

As so so happy!! Best get on the phone about the stallion tomorrow.

Now Dexter, he had a look at his scabs and said we could go down the route of sending a sample away and checking etc but what he is seeng now is healing and the skin under neath looks good so he said to keep doing what we are doing and let it run its course.

Also I rode him in the school today and he was def sound woo hoo, for how long who knows with horses!! But he is for now and was working very well so fingers crossed I dont have any more bad luck!!

Sorry so self indulgent but am so happy they are both fit and well

Because it would be the summer she would be ready to compete and then the ground will proably be to hard so would have to wait till the winter and hunt her etc, so may as well use that time and breed from her and bring her back in when the foal is born next year.

And she is so well bred and so so talented but could do with her being a bit bolder! So am hoping to breed a little bold Spider! I hope!

Hope the Hattie camp starts looking up soon too x

At last some good news!! So pleased for you and Spider/Dexter - hope the fertility scan goes well.

I will watch her progress with interest as probably going to go down the same route, if all goes well

Well done Spider!

When my vet spoke about breeding from Dolly he said to make sure that the stallion doesn't have upright hocks as that is one of contributing factors to PSD.

Hiya, how is Hattie doing? x

Hattie is going back to vet tomorrow morning, she has been on 2 weeks box rest, bringing her lameness to 5weeks. She is still lame/stiff behind on the turn and vets are a bit stumped as to what it is. They will probably nerve block and x-ray again tomorrow and then decide from that whether they want her to have scintigraphy. Bit of an expensive bore!

I'm so pleased it's all coming together for you H_J. You sounded so fed up in your recent posts but hey, that's the joy of having horses isn't it.
