Well, 6 months on from our accident, we have finally felt it was time to sort through our riding things.
So we have spent the day at the yard sorting through tack, rugs, buckets and bins, remembering good times when we used some of it.
I feel its now time for us to move on, never forget, but its time for a new chapter, and Im feel so much better in my mind.

I read your previous posts before I joined up as a member of the forum, so I hope you don't mind me posting now.

Today must have been hard for you :( well done for getting through it. I hope you are ok.

To be honest, it wasnt as hard as I thought it was going to be. Sorting his rugs out, we rembered him in his field, making his nice clean rugs muddy and filthy as quickly as he could!! And trying to impersonate a racehorse when wearing his excercise sheet!!! It was good to be able to smile while doing it.
We have been offered a pony today, a 13.2hh gelding, 4yr old to start long reining, lunging and free schooling, ready to sell which we are seriously considering. I wont ride again, we were thinking about carriage driving but my back is not good enough yet, so this would just see us through.

Well done - that must have been tough.

The 13.2 gelding sounds like a great project - let us know if you decide to go for him.

I have a friend who can't ride anymore - and she has taken up in-hand showing of minature ponies and is having a fab time. She takes a Doctors Certificate with her to explain she can't always run - and has someone to help her with that bit.

In hand showing is also a definate possibility, which is something else we could do with this pony we have been ofered. We would have him on loan, then when his owner sells him we would be given some of the money. All sounds pretty good, think we might go and meet him tommorrow.
