Hey all,

I was wondering if any of you know of Finchingfield equestrian centre at Elms Farm? I was thinking about going SJ there, but have never been there. What is it like? What are the facilities?

Thanks in advance

We jumped there yesterday and use their training shows on a saturday often.

Its a lovely place with really helpful and friendly people. The all important burger wagon sells really good local organic meat, and the egg and sausage is to die for.

Nick Moon (who runs it with his Mother and Step father) also gives really good lessons.

You should give them a go...

Sam

ps They do build to height tho......(which I always prefer)

I have lessons over there with Nick-great trainer imo.
They have a huge all weather outdoor with lovely surface and full set of jumps, can be quite spooky as all new plastic ones. They are currently building a new warm up behind the lorry park with a walk way down to the main arena. I also took my young horse to their dressage a few weeks ago, well run, results up quickly, decent judge and relaxed atmosphere and a fairly high standard of people there.
Go and give it a try, I would recommend it and we need to support new up and coming venues as we are lacking slightly in this area.

Okay, that is great thanks guys.

If they are really ''up to height'' and spooky, do you think it would be worth dropping down a class? I was going to do 85 and 95cms with the 5 yr old, but do you think it would be worth doing the 75 and 85 for our first time there?

It sounds lovely :D

Do they have a website? I have googled and can't find one....

I haven't been to their jumping shows so can't help on height but they currently don't have a website, they just put shows up on horsedates. If there is a contact number I'm sure they wouldn't mind giving you a ring as they are lovely people.

The training shows they run on a saturday are brilliant for getting your horse used to the arena and jumps, you can turn up anytime after 11am and they put the fences up and down to suit each individual...its very laid back and Nick will help if you want it

The heights range from about 55cm to 1.30 so something for everyone

They do change the training days to a week night through the summer.
