I am planning on breeding my mare, maybe next year or so, for myself and i am looking for something a little lighter to get out of her and possibily unique (colour). She 15.2 hh black and does not have blood lines but is irish cob/ID and her dad a welshie D. most friends have told me to put her to a TB but i have seen sum ugly ones and some pretty ones ? hmmm... find my mare a man lol .

Firstly, your mare is gorgeous!

How big do you want the baby to be? I've always thought Connemaras are beautiful, and they're great competition ponies - I've been riding a Connie/cob recently and he is really gorgeous - enough bone to carry plenty of weight, but with a pretty delicate head and clean legs too.

Lol got nothing to do with your post sorry, but just have to say that my share horse whose also called guinness bears quite a good resembelence to your guinness

stranger things have happened!

Years and years ago a girl I knew had dun cobby pony called Becky Brown (the horse was called Becky Brown, not the girl!). Anyway, about a year later another girl came to our yard with a dark bay cobby pony and he was called Bernard Brown - turned out they were in fact half brother and sister. They shared the same dam and were bred by the same person. !

You never no lol ,

i found my horses past out and she was born in ireland, and she was a cheeky one night stand. The stallion owned by the neighboors (sp) decieded to pay her mum a visit in the night. :P

Lovely type. I would put her to to quite a fine type of warmblood, perhaps a Selle Francais. Try posting this on the breeding forum, they normally have really good advice on there.

She is gorgeous! What about a cremello stallion? He will be of a lighter type and you could have an interesting coloured foal.

My friend has a CB/TB X highland who is blue and white.
