Am starting to look at horses for sale now.
Due to a change in circumstances I have a lower budget, so have had to change what I am looking for.

15.2hh-16.1hh
4-7 years
budget upto £8k
Within travelling distance of Worcestershire (will travel up to 2 hours max)
It doesn't need to have done much, as long as it is broken and has something special about it- potential to event to intro/pn standard. Competition experience is a bonus but as long as it can jump, do a nice dressage test and looks nice

Have found a few but phoned up and they are all sold or not as good as the advert makes out

To give you an idea of what we are looking for, we have phoned up about this horse and he sounds suitable so we may be seeing him, but want to make a day of it and see a few in one day:

We bought my lad from Fi, and everything she said about him is true - she won't lie to you, if she doesn't think it's the right horse then she will say so. She also has quite a few others in so if she's not too far away then worth a ring! Good luck looking

Mmm, she has some nice horses on there! *whispers* but they will proberbly be too expensive! Where is she based? Can't find the location on her website!

MLT-That chestnut is stunning-alot of horse for the money. Have you already rung about it?

Yep, phoned up last night. Sounds lovely, properbly a bit "hot headed". They haven't taken him to any comps which made us a bit suspicious as they have had him for 2 years. Apparently he was bought for her hubby to play polo on, but he didn't like the polo stick around his head.
Think we are going to see him if we can make our trip worth while and look at a few more on the same day!

I LOVE coloureds! Have always wanted a coloured horsey. He looks nice! Will have to find out quite how sharp he is though..! Whilst I do not want a plod, I don't know if I am good enough for a sharp horse. Lady is sharp but she is only 14.2hh so less horse to handle!

Thats strange looked at the one on Horsemart last night and was thinking he was right of my street too!
Even though i'm not looking

I sold Tara simply because we had reached our limit as a partnership. She is an amazing little horse but she had reached a level with me where we were going over the same ground, if that makes sense. If I wasn't such a competitive person I would of kept her forever, but I am very ambitious and want a new challenge. Our original plan was to buy a schoolmaster to take me up to do novice BE and beyond, but thats changed now due to circumstances we can't change, and we can't afford a "been-there-done-that" type, so am going for the challenge of bringing on a younger horse to be successfull at PN level.
Lady was always going to be sold- she is just too small for me to keep at the end of the day, if she was a hand bigger I would keep her but she deserves a little rider to have fun on and do well with, which is what we have found for her

you should be able to get 3 horses that match your description for your budget

I have heard some alright reports from this place - they have a lot of nice stamps of horse - green but capable looking - http://www.irishhorseimports.co.uk/

Also heard good things about Avril Roberts/Equine Agents, and they have some nice irish horses in at sensible prices - http://www.equine-agents.co.uk/

Tina Myles is more local to you and has all sorts in - http://www.horsequest.co.uk/TinaMyles.htm

I think there are quite a few nice ones listed here too - http://www.horsequest.co.uk/ExRaceHorses.htm
