Well not me, Elvis.
I've reached a bit of a sticky patch. Elvis is a bit chilly in his 100g shires turnout now the weather has changed, but his next rug up is a JHL medium weight combo and he just gets too hot in it. Unfortunately I've just found out the JHL is 250g which is far too much. Overnight he's in a 200g combo stable rug and that's perfect but then it is colder at night. So I think I need to get him a combo or rug with detachable neck at around 150-200g for daytime turnout (he's in at night)
So what can you lovely HHO'ers recommend. I don't really want to spend more than £60 as I'm sure he'll only be in this rug for a couple of weeks and then it'll be cold enough for the JHL medium weight. I don't mind second hand as long as it's in good condition (ie doesn't need any repairs, waterproofing etc)
He wears a 6ft9 rug.
Thank you in advance.
Ps does anyone else have a horse that seems to bend the rules of science? Elvis is an un clipped TB who is a very warm horse (hence his current medium weight making him sweat, and that's just standing in a field) but you can work him hard for 45mins-1.5 hours and he's doesn't sweat up at all! I really wanted to clip him too but I just can't justify it!
