Hi

I am looking for a permanent loan home/possible sale for my 14.2 gelding and i'm finding it really difficult. I've advertised online and told my farrier/horsey friends and have had a few people come see him but they are either too inexperienced or decide not to loan him. He is a project pony, he's 6yrs old and green and can be a challenge to ride, he has the most amazing nature, and is so sweet and gentle on the ground he just can get frustrated when being ridden as he is green so can sometimes not understand what you are asking. He can jumo and canter and hack but just needs someone who can be confident on him. Is there any hope of me finding a home? Or can anyone suggest what else I could do. I thought about ringing some equine charities and see if they have any spaces for rehabilitation cases as they sometimes do this.
Any advice appreciated. x

Oh what a shame! There seems to be plenty of people looking, (like me), I have been looking for full loan 14.2-15hh for months now, but as I need to put my 12 yr on it too I couldnt have anything too green. I guess most people who would take on a project need taller that 14.2 unless they are a short A*se like me. Have you thought about scouring the wanted ads? Seems to be more looking than offering ATM. Or project horses?

can you not send him to be reschooled ? Or sell him as a project pony ? He sounds like he just needs bringing on by someone with lots of experience. I would try and get him sorted before you loan or sell him, as it may be asking for trouble ? sm x

Could you find a sharer/rider?

I am/was (had an accident so she's having a baby, mostly to stop me getting on before docs orders) bringing on a baby for someone. I've got the experience to do it but no money to own/loan my own so it's worked out fab for both of us and I dearly love that mare. If I could I'd buy her in a heartbeat.

Can you post up some details of the area you are in and pictures etc?
I have two people on my yard who are interested in project/loan horses....

I did initially advertise for a rider/sharer but had no luck as was only getting young inexperienced riders interested. If I found an experienced rider who wanted to ride him/share that would be great but am just finding it hard to find anyone.
