Afternoon all,

Firstly apologies if this post is in the wrong section :)

I am looking into doing my stage 3 next year and need to be riding regularly and become more comp fit but unfortunatly due to financial and time commitments am unable to loan/share/own my own horse.

I am trying to find a horse/s in my local area (Northampton) that I could school - flat or jump 1/2 times p/w FOC. 15'2+ preferably as I'm 5'8 although smaller, bigger bones types would be fine just need to get in the saddle.

Does this sound like a possibility? Are there people around who would want/need their horse schooling free of charge?

Depends if your capable of actually improving the horse or if you would just be riding it really. If you can improve the horse then chances are you will find some thing if not then you will possibly need to pay to ride. Best way of finding some thing would be through word of mouth.

Agree with other two posts. But if you are at a level where you still need to improve for stage 3, rather than just getting fitter then in all honesty that's not a standard I would class as being ready to school other peoples horses. Exercise & practice on certainly but not to tell people you are schooling. And sorry if I am mistaken & you do have other experience but are just wanting to keep up with practice.

I'm looking for something to school to keep my fitness up and I would hope to maintain and improve the horses way of going.

I am working towards my AI and currently teach at the weekend and in an evening whilst working around my full time job in an office - so I would hope that I'm not completly rubbish :)

Thank you for your thoughts

Where are you in northants and how far are you willing to travel? How experienced and confident are you?

My friend has a horse she is looking to loan out but the horse has only just come back into work and needs a lot of schooling so I think it might take her a while to find someone, but might suit you until she does find a loaner? She is based near Rushden so let me know if that's any good?

it's a bit too far away for me unfortunatly - thank you for the thought though :)
