I had been thinking of adding another to my horses at home - one ridden and one retired as the retired horse would prefer to live out overnight all year round and my ridden horse wouldn’t. The retiree will happily stay out on his own. The ridden won’t stay in on his own overnight in winter.

I can’t afford to buy so looking for something long term loan. I predominantly do dressage - competing medium. Training adv med. We have outstanding hacking from our doorstep with minimal roadwork.
I am in Shropshire and willing to discuss options as I’m aware that loan horses are in short supply and most may have a reason why they aren’t for sale. Id anybody knows of anything I’d be very grateful.

Id imagine anything competing at medium dressage is more likely for lease than long term loan. Morringhan lease ponies may have something

For something very specific dressage wise it's much more likely to be word of mouth than your normal loan places.
I was going to suggest speaking to the charities - they sometimes have nice ridden loan horses - but rarely working at advanced medium

Ask your instructor / local competition venues etc.

unless you are practically famous you will be very lucky to find that . A horse like that is worth at least 50k so why would someone essentially just give it to you? You might find a lease but it’s not common in the uk

I read it that the OP is describing her skill set, not saying the horse they want to loan must come working and competing at that level.

If I was incapacitated / working abroad / pregnant and I had a Novice / Elementary horse that I wanted to stay in work and potentially be schooled up a bit, I might consider a loan to someone riding at a higher level than the horse, if all checked out.
