Well - decided that the little lad has to stay, he has done his best to cheer me up since we lost the big lad last Wednesday.
I still cant face the stables on a morning, so the yard is turning the little lad out for me.
Poor little lad is so fed up without a friend though - he is a nutter when he is turned out with anything else - so it was perfect with the big lad as he was so quiet and just wanted to be left alone.
So decision is made a new friend will be found for the little lad - but where on earth do i start - as it costs as much to keep a good one as a bad one, then i will get something else to ride and compete - and that is a whole new ball game.
I know my heart is not in it - and a few good suggestions have been made, and possibly i will see if i can get a horse to keep the little one company over the winter - well i have to pay for the stable if i want to keep it, so it may as well be used for some poor mite - but then would i get too attached - what would happen if my perfect horse came up ? no way could i turn the "loanie" out into the cold and the snow.
Or do i say stuff it and let the little lad just put up with being on his own for 6 months ?
