Where are they all?!

I'm on the cusp about selling my boy and think a part loaner or sharer would be ideal, however he's been advertised for a few weeks and have had no interest. He's brilliant to ride and is on a great yard, so thought I'd have at least some interest - but had nothing, not even complete timewasters!

I know it's not the best time of year to be searching, but is there anywhere else I can have him advertised? So far he's on Facebook, Preloved and Friday Ads (basically all the places where i've found loans/shares in the past).

I'd suggest all of those you've already tried, I trawled through them all when I was looking for a loan, including placing my own ads. It was placing my own ad that finally found me my boy.
Are you based somewhere remote?
Maybe also try Horses 4 homes, local tack shops / riding schools (if they'd let you?). There's also a new horse website starting up called 'Rehome my horse' (I saw it on my facebook feed) and I think you can advertise for a part loan/loan/share on there. It's very new but it's aimed at people looking for a 'first horse' types from what I've read briefly.

Fab thanks, will try them :)

Not remote at all - I'm based in Bristol city and it takes me about half an hour to get to him (and I think he's in quite a supposedly horsey area)

try FB, and if it's in a group make sure the post is bumped!

possibly try putting a poster/ad in your yard if it hosts many shows etc, or in the local tack shops. Maybe it's the wording, or the photos you're using?

Also try and make sure your horsey friends/people on your yard know you're looking. I found my sharers through a mutual friend on FB who saw my ad, and got them in contact with me. Before that, I've had very little interest.

keep in mind schools are also back - so if your horse is a good jumper you may be able to find an older teen who wants to compete for their school teams but doesn't have the horse to compete on

I might know of someone if you want to PM me your details. She shared my boy and is wonderful but she's moved to Bristol and it's too far for her to come back to ride mine.

Thanks - have PM'd you :)

Good shout Sasquatch, at the moment I'm on a very small yard (just the two of us!), but will be moving to a much bigger place in a few weeks, so hoping I'll have more success with a bigger circle of horsey people! He's a v. good jumper, so will keep that in mind about school teams

Have you put up ads in any of the tack shops (equicraft probably most local). Also loads of local fb groups - can dig out names of various if you like. Theres quite a few up for part loan in this sort of area so I do find it quite hard to get a decent sharer - can share a post on my fb if you like as know a lot of horsey folk in the area

Oh - Bristol also seem to have a big uni riding club - some of them have/ had their own - so maybe an option? I know someone whos in it if you want me to ask

Ahh thank you! that would be brilliant if you could share a post - I've got him advertised on a couple of the Bristol horsey groups - I'll PM you (and fiiinally reply, sorry for taking so long!).

That would be great about the uni club, I was considering whether that might work for him.
