as some of you know, ive got my 12.2hh 4 year old who ive started backing. ive hacked him out a few times and will continue to do this. but im going to start looking for a lightweight rider to start doing some 'proper' work for 20 mins once or twice a week.

i would love to do this with him, but realisticly, i am too heavy. i weight 8.5 stone and im 5ft 4. hes a small NF. ideally, id like to find a perminant rider to ride him as much as they like but i want to start off slow to make sure they are right together.

the thing is, i dont know where to start or how to word an ad. ive been fine advertising a rider for my cob as hes anyones ride. but i have an idea of a perfect jockey and i dont know how to put it on paper. to make sure im not advertising, if anyone wants to read what i have so far, ill PM you. but if anyone can give me ideas. and IF there actually will be a market for him.

so if anyone can help me write an ad, PM me :) and also while im here. do you think im way to heavy to even hack him? (at the moment, we are only walking out with another horse for 5-10 mins and he seems fine but i dont want to hurt him!)

definately not too heavy.

i had to get someone to help me back my youngster and i just put an honest ad up saying about all his quirks and what i wanted from that person. i've got someone who is very good at helping me with him, she can only do a couple of days a week but we make them days worthwhile.
she's a bit taller and lighter than you are and she's been riding my 12.2hh pony with no problems.

Don't bother advertising for a kid to ride him, you could!!! 8.5st is no way too heavy for him! Rule of thumb says he could carry 12st....He would easily be capable of carrying 10st full time!! I would have been happy putting my 13st dad on my 12.2 when I had him for a short time. So at 8.5st you're deffo not too heavy for him!!! xoxo
