Finding a young rider for SJ pony

I'm seriously considering getting someone to take daughters pony BSJA. If ever there was a pony that should be out there he is one.
But....
I dont know any little jockeys capable of riding him to the level I think he's got the scope for. So how would I go about finding someone for him?
 
Whats the details of the pony? There is a girl at our yard v capable and 11 riding ponies. PM me with your details of pny of u want?
 
Pony is around 13 hands and 7yo.
Vid of daughter jumping him. The limiting factor in this vid is my daughters lack of experience (she hardly ever jumps) but it does show the ponys jump. He's very carefull, rarely touching a pole. I've popped him over 1mtr but he could go a lot higher.

I guess word of mouth is best? What about going to junior BSJA's and chatting to some parents there - Im sure you could find a kid there to begin competing him? Maybe put up a poster advertising him at this sort of show? Or maybe you have a local BSJA website? If so, put him on there.

What a super little pony that is. A real poppet. & I am going to say that your daughter is doing fantastic, she is a real decent little rider. Personally I think you should let your daughter ride at shows, which is the only way she will gain experience. Please let her have a go I have a feeling in 1 yrs time you wont regret it.

Believe me, I would love her to do it herself. Nothing would give me greater satisfaction than to train her to compete BSJA but she really isn't in to showjumping and just doesn't want to do it. There is no way i will force her in to it. Riding should be fun. She likes an occasional pop round a few fences in the field but thats it which is fine by me. Her ambitions are in dressage which the pony is also showing real promise at. Hence my need to find the right rider. Boot and haul merchants need not apply as I want to keep the pony snaffle mouthed in all disciplines as he is now

Yes he does which is why I need a rider for him. Getting him out jumping will hopefully stop him going sour with dressage.

Here's a little vid of his first dressage outing (second test). His antics in the canter are mild compared to what he did in the first test

there is so much out there now for kids into dressage within BD just keep the pony for dressage and not upset the great partnership she has with the pony by putting another jockey on and doing BSJA which may fizz the pony up and then upset the dressage for your daughter, Good BSJA ponies are often then to fizzy to do good dressage (in general term) Ok if your trying/thinking about selling the pony soon then yes maybe do some BSJA to make the pony worth more but if its your daughter only pony and dressage is what she wants to do why change things?
 
Ah I see, I didnt realise your daughter didnt want to showjump & you are quite right it should be fun. I simply 'presumed' as you said she had little experience that you wanted the pony jumping with a more experienced rider. She is a very capable little jockey bless her. I hope she does well with the dressage.

You hit the nail on the head. Daughter has started competing wifes welsh D in dressage. Plan is to prob sell daughters pony in 12-18 months time. Daughter will then take over the D and wife will get new horse.
Would be nice to up ponies value with some BSJA winnings

Yes good idea but good dressage ponies make loads of money too so maybe push forward with that if you can't find the right rider.
 
Lovely pony but you can tell its still a bit green with the jumping, your daughter is a fab little rider, if she is happy popping round then great. Have you done any other types of jumps other than uprights? Shoot me for saying this but as the purple got bigger it was beginning to struggle, and that was an upright? Before bunging it the BSJA route (which I do think it would cope with) build some more jumps at home parallels wide!! BSJA jumps tend to be a lot wider, however i do have a feeling the pony would possibly ping over them even more!!!

Your choice of course, but personally I'd let daughter play with it and you may find 1)pony doesnt sicken of jumping as she doesnt want to jump all the time 2) daughter gets keen on jumping!!!

She isnt rushing the pony, she takes some nice little pulls in there, whilst it could get you some more money in the bank for having a few £'s on its card, is it really worth it in the long run?

Lovely pony, even greater daughter!! Wish my 8 year old was that brave!!! She gave up riding and got miniatures!!!
