Finding out a competition record for Imported mare

Hi,
I own a mare who was imported from Belgium a few years ago. The previous owner who I bought her off imported her after a holiday in Belgium whereby she had taken her hubby to one of the showjumping yards, they had seen her, and fallen for her. She had apparently been used for competing and had bred one foal. They bought her and started working her and bam – turned out she was infoal! Apparently they contacted the person who they had bought her off to find out who the stallion was, if they could get a covering slip etc and it turned a bit nasty as he wasn’t happy she was infoal and he had sold her. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I cant really get any info from that contact.
Is there any way I can find out any competition wins etc she may have had whilst in Europe? She has a plain name so just searching the name on google etc wont bring anything up.
Any ideas?

I am hoping to go to get her graded hence any competition records are rather important, esp as she is getting older!

she is a KWPN, cant see her ever have done any dressage or eventing at all.
 
Just because the people who imported her from Belgium had a disagreement with the Belgian seller, does not mean you will too. I would go back to them and ask in a very innocent way, for more info on the mare. Most breeders are very happy to talk about their animals.
 
speak to the bsja they have all the contact details of foreign society for when you register horses over the age of 4yo !!

i've emailed the lady who i bought her from but i'm not sure if she will have all of the details anymore as she emigrated last year.
I'm hoping someone may know of some kind of results website or something

(ie, something to make it nice and easy! some of the things i googled are all well, in dutch etc!)

She is 16 now so not sure what she will have done when, it wont have been in the last 4 years.

I'll try emailing the stud book also.

The BSJA will give you all the contact emails, fax and telephone numbers for all the sports horse societies - you just need to get in contact with them, tell them her name and they will get back to you on whether she has winning or not.

My horse is a belgian wb and i was advised to write to the Dutch, Belgian and German horse societies to find out his winnings!

As said contact the BSJA (british Show Jumping Society) and ask them they will give you all the details???
 
i was hoping there was a main website, looks like i am going to have to email quite a few places, i know from her passport she seems to have been around a bit.
I never thought the BSJA would be able to help though as she hasnt competed in the uk?

The bsja sent me through a list via email of all the places i should try - i just did one one email with my horses details ie name,age,sex and colour and sent the same email to all - the German one didnt like my email for some reason so i sent them a fax instead and got it back the next day.

Belgium NF's website is www.equibel.be but it's not that helpful for results. She may also have competed with the LRV (RC movement, but more high-powered than in UK, jump up to 1m30 classes) www.lrv.be but again not that useful for old results. As long as your enquiry to NF's includes her stud book number too it doesn't matter if she has a very common name.
 
I had the same with my Belgian WB import in 2004. They were going to slap a fortune on his card and I would have been jumping Foxhunter or equivalent height! He was 7 at the time. They said that they would fax Belgium, Holland and I think it was Germany and see if they had a record for him. The faxes came back saying 'horse not registered in this country' and the BSJA then registered him as a Grade C thank goodness. The dealer I bought him off assured me he hadn't got any winnings as I knew I wanted to compete him BSJA and I only wanted to jump at BN level.

RING THE BSJA AND THEY WILL SUPPLY YOU WITH THE FAX NUMBERS OF THE ORGANISATIONS IN THE COUNTRIES APPLICABLE TO YOUR HORSE.
