Wellafter a rubbish dressage and beautiful show jumping yesterday.Today he was brilliant.
It was pouring with rain and when we got there at 3pm I found there were only 2 left in my team as the others had withdrawn.I found the farrier and asked him nicely if he would put me stud holes in the hind shoes which he did in pouring rain, bless.
Did road and tracks then twice round the enormous steeplechase course, then road and track again and into the 10 min box.I knew the time would be tight on the xc and was determined to do my best.We set off at agreat pace and he took everything in his stride. When I got to the third from last fence I had to check back abit as the rider before me had refused and knocked the flag out and they were mending it.We sailed over and the optimum time was 5min 50 secs, I knew I was slightly over but was it good enough.

Well we came 2nd and only lost by 0.6 marks.i won best jumping as I was nearest the optimum 6.8 penalties .It was a tight time I really went quite fast but still just couldn't have made the time.Maybe if they hadn't been mending the fence I would have won but didn't want to complain as he was great to ride and still full of running nd recovered quickly.

GREAT DAY

hooray for you - sounds like a fantastic day, you'll have to the rc areas now and then the 2 day event at the championships!!

Well done you!!
Glad to hear things went well today! You so deserve it after all the work you have put in. Your boy is a smashing chap and you do have a lot more to give.
So the only way is up!

Not sure about areas asdon't think we can do champs. if we qualified as he has qualified for Intro champs the following week and a 2 day, then the following week doing champs is a lot but I'll see how he recovers from this one, it may make him settle down.Really enjoyed doing the 2 day though

Thank you Partoow ,he was a star today and loved the xc, he was so powerful and controllable. I felt I could have jumped anything on him. I have to live with the dressage some days he will be brilliant but others not so good,it just annoys me that he has so much talent but also tension. We will work together at it.Thanks again
