Can never quite decide whether to put pics in the relevant section, or just PG, so here goes!
We went to a lurcher show yesterday, my boy doesn't really like showing (boring) but does well with our friend. She was judging elsewhere, so I took him in, he was 2nd... out of two! This is us in the ring, boy does he look bored!

So then we took the dogs for a walk, far more fun, woods and water and lots of filth for the spaniels!

So, it's the spaniels that retrieve is it?! Apologies to my OH who doesn't like being in the pics, but always gets in the frame!

Jazz loses her excess weightwhen the shooting season starts, but for now she has been reclassified from 'Springer' to 'Dumpy Pointer'!

He looks so much happier in the woods than in the show ring!

Hope you enjoy!

Your 'second out of two' comment reminded me of the bad old days when I thought I would get into dog showing

- my first whippet was a dreadful specimen of the breed (although I absolutely adored her), my second one was slightly better from a show point of view. I can still remember my delight when the younger whippet was placed in a class - I came out and announced proudly "she has actually beaten another dog", something which no 1 whippet never managed to do

My older lab is the same, carries more weight during summer until I start the fittening for the season. She has only been out twice so far this season though so we've got a while to go before she is really muscled.

Excellent pictures - love your spaniels (are you sure you don't want to lend me one for the season?)

Your lurcher does look rather bored!!! I am sure he was desperately looking for a rabbit to pop up from the hedge!
