Would you leave mum and foal out or stable?? mum doesnt give two hoots about them, but Sect A can be a bit nervy...dont really want foalie to see nervy!!

If mum is ok in a stable when fireworks going off i would maybe leave them in,at least if foalie panics he cant hurt himself and mum is right next to him to reassure him

He may well be absolutely fine out,but if you have the stable option better safe than sorry

I always leave out - would rather them be able to run around in the field if they feel scared than get themselves in a panic in the stable.

But I suppose it depends what yours are used to - if they are still living out 24/7 then leave out if they are in at night then bring in at nightt, if you change their routine for one night then it's more likely to upset them

Exactly. There is a risk in most things, but foals will tend to take their cue from their mum. When people say tuck the horses up in their stable for the night that overlooks the fact that horses like to be out in the open seeing what is going on when something noisy or strange is happening. That is why they are to be found in the middle of the field in a storm. Do what you normally do.

I think you should just do whatever the pony normally has - is she normally stabled overnight?? If not then IMO don't. Mine live out 24/7 (although they have full access to the stables) and I will not be taking mine in. Our village has a display which we can see very clearly from here. Ive tried putting my "stressy" one in but he flips out as he can't see whats happening. I normally stand outside with them during the display and will just hold him on the end of a leadrope if he does start getting upset.
