My collie hates them, i give him some australian bush remedies and they helped a lot last year.
Now I have some local to me tonight and have a night out which has been arranged for a long time, friend had a baby in desperate need of a night out.
Ive asked my b/f to stay in with dog but i have a horrible feeling even though he has said he will, he will sneak out.
What do I do? - i can easily give him lots of the remedy - but i dont want to leave him on his own.

Can you not find someone to take the dog for a night that's not near the fireworks?
If it were mine and I couldn't do that or trust my OH to stay with the dog, I'd just cancel my night out and stay home myself.
If you must go out then make sure the dog has access to somewhere it feels safe and can hide. A crate covered with a blanket would be good.
Am sure more people will be along with other ideas too on here :)

Can't comment about your boyfriend not staying in, he should if he said he would but for future firework scares, I have been trying out the anxietywrap.com on my dog who is terrified of guns, thunder, fireworks etc, it does make a difference, not a cure but it helps. It works on the accupressure and accupunture points round his body I'm waiting for the face wrap to arrive too to try that. I also have soothing dog spray and dog calmer from forestfarmacy.com just got those to try so too early to say if they work or not.
I would recommend trying the anxiety wrap, it is better than the thundershirt as it has more pressure at the rear where dogs can store stress and the thunder shirt is a knock off of the anxiety wrap so in breach of the Patent laws.
