Yes! I'm doing intros at B.Beeches this Sat, and Firle the weekend after - about halfway down my section, so shouldnt be tooo early a start
smile.gif

I'm 272- about 10 up from you-Prudence is in our section too-so the competition heats up!
What are you doing on Sunday-do you fancy helping me with the terrier racing? Jo Carr called me today to ask if I wanted to be entry secretary for it. Should be fun-ideally wanted to fence judge but thats obviously full.

I reckon doing the terrier racing will be far more fun than fence judging! I'm trying to convince OH we should do it with our 14yo terrier! But he'd probably just try and pick a fight!

I'm there sat and sun, occured to me yesterday to look at a map and find out where it is.... I'm now horrified! It's miles and there'll be loads of people on the road with it being bank holiday

Dont know where you're coming from but the road we use to get to Firle has very conveniently been dug up! so we either have to take a very long de-tour or sit in miles of traffic! FUN!
crazy.gif

Good luck everyone btw

Was going to ask on here actually, coming down M25 from Herts, then is it best to go down that bit of motorway and the A23, or a little further on M25 then use the A22 and A26? Ona map the first option looks better...

For those travelling to Firle on A27 Eastbound(from Brighton to Eastbourne)the railway crossing at Beddingham, just beyond Lewes is subject to massive roadworks as they build a flyover. To avoid the A27 eastbound and Lewes you can go along A272 & down A22 & back along A27 westbound to get to Firle- or allow substanial time as it is a Bank Holiday weekend and may become very congested.

This is what was written up on bdwp - we're wondering whether its worth taking the de-tour or sitting in stationary traffic!

Traffic should be ok around Beddingham over the weekend-will be a few tailbacks due to the works on the fly-over at the train crossing and two lines of traffic merging into one.
Easiest route re: A23/A27 to Firle.

Detour via Lewes up to Ringmer, past Glyndebourne and through Glynde hitting the A27 at the Firle turning. Will add about 20 min onto journey and not really advisable for lorries-trailers fine.Let me know if you want the route as quite tricky to explain so will sort out into an understandable paragraph if anyone wants it!

Thank you for that Paris! Im chief map reader and Mum briefs me VERY well before we "set sail" - we've ended up in obscure places far too often!

Atleast we are trailer trash so we can turn round in tight situations!

My favourite pastime when we are going to an event atm is plane spotting! especially at Heathrow!

If in a large lorry, I would advise sitting in the queue if there is one-not sure about the detour the site has given-doesn't make a huge amount of sense to me and I live in Firle so....

Here's mine -
At Ashcombe roundabout take 1st exit lrft into A277-signposted Lewes/Haywards Heath
Continue on until you hit traffic lights (Lewes Prison on your left). Straight over, down into Lewes town centre. Straight over at 2 sets of traffic lights until you get to war memorial, bear left here. Down hill, aorund right hand corner to roundabout (over the Ouse-Tesco on left and Harvey's on right).
Straight out over 1st and 2nd roundabout. Up Malling Street (A26) straight over at traffic lights at brow of hill. Take your next right-Earing Corner signposted Ringmer/Heathfield.
Straight on for 1/4 mile, take next obvious right signposted Glynde/Glyndebourne. Carry straight on up this road. You pass Glyndebourne Opera House on your left, a Llama farm on left amd then up steep stretch before downhill into Glynde. Through the village, over railway tracks. At the Trevor Arms Pub take the left hand road directly opposite the pub. Steep hill with row of houses on left. Carry straight on until you hit junction, turn left onto A27 and few yards on right hand turning into Firle.

Might be going to watch as one of the people I work with is doing the PN

So might be there - although probs be working to cover her shift ~rolls eyes~

I'll be there i'm helping out on the sunday too alongside my OH grey_gelding. Seem to get roped into it every year but secretly quite looking forward to it!!!

we are helping on the sunday. I personally wouldn't risk the a27 - it was a 4 mile 10mph tailback a couple of weeks ago at 11 ish. I'd use a23, a264 and then a22 and at lower dicker take lane to a27. It is a safe easy route for a lorry - we use it all the time. I gallop on firle and therefore use that route to get down there.

I don't use the a27 anymore as it is always at a standstill! having just driven from bristol and got stuck on the m25. I can't stand traffic jams!

I think we are jump judging! look forward to seeing you.

the M25 is appalling - especially at the weekend or even worse - on a friday afternoon/evening - not fun, especially with a trailer!
blush.gif

look forward to seeing you too- how is/are your horse/horses??
