What do you think to this as a 1st time Novice run? SJ and XC?
Up to that I will have approx 6 PN runs under my belt if not balloted, and if all going well will want to go Novice towards the early end of the season.
I have walked the course (last year) and have always thought eeekkk....its big, but its very very local to me so am interested in your thoughts of the course.

No way!!
I havent ridden it personally but heard it doesnt ride smoothly and the atmosphere gets to them a biut in the sj.

Hmmm...maybe a fall infront of the home crowd is NOT the way I want to start my first novice.....
It is a big course-I thought even the PN was big, and yes true about the atmosphere SJ-didn't experience it much last year as SJ'd first thing when all was still quiet.

I wouldn't do that as a first time one.... I like Firle but it is big and the SJ is 'buzzy' - how about Brightling instead? Still up to height but more spread out and seems quieter somehow - although it is a big event.

I too have heard bad things about Firle and it's atmosphere. My friend did the PN there a couple of years ago and remember thinking the XC was a bit tricky. Unfortunately she didn't make it that far..... Stacked it in the SJ.

It is a very busy one what with the country fair and all.

It rides really well - but you need to be ready for some quite decent questions. Firle catches people out with a few different fences.

what about Borde Hill? You must be very very local to me - so this is another local for you!!!!
