We had very leisurely times today (roughly 3.30, 5.20 and 6.10) so plenty of time to have a lie-in and ride my own horse before setting off to firle with my sister (much better than the 4am start for the pc areas a few weeks ago

)

Sparrow did one of his better dressage tests so we were slightly disappointed with a mark of 39, but when we compared it with others in her section (PN F) it was roughly in the middle so pretty good

Showjumping they had one down which was a shame but there were only 6 clears in the section so 4 faults wasn't disasterous.

XC they went clear

but they gained 11.2 time penalties for going too slowly

My sister got such a hard time at the beginning of the season for going dangerously fast that she's now gone the other way. Hopefully next time she will find a speed somewhere in the middle.

Just looked at the results and they finished 16th out of 40 dressage starters which is respectable, but the best bit about the day was that for once it didn't rain! Hope everyone else had a good day x

Oh great stuff, welldone! I was there too yesterday, was such a lovely day in the sun and a beautiful setting!

Really well done to your sister

Sparrow looked lovely - saw her SJ and he was so "pingy"

She must have had an awesome XC ride on him - those fences were pretty meaty

Spent quite a lot of time standing vaguely next to your sister and Sparrow waiting for each phase

Yes I felt like we were stalking you all afternoon! I have a couple of really rubbish photos of hattie that I will post with sparrow's when I get round to uploading them x

Try taking her to the beach, and practicing a consistent XC canter, then speed up and slow down to get the feel for the "right" one.

Well done though. Sounds like you all had a great day (and always nicer when it doesn't rain).

At one point i was standing opposite your sister and sparrow by the SJ steward who was totally ignoring the 5 of us who were standing wondering whether we were going numerically, by time or when we wanted! we smiled and rolled our eyes at each other as the SJ steward seemed to get into even more of a muddle!
