Well we attempted our first affiliated dressage yesterday in the baking heat, which is better then the rain i suppose lol

To start of, I could say lots about how crappy the venue is *south east* but it would be slander lol...but to say lots of people were unimpressed is a understatement - it was like riding in the middle of a small farm lol. 2 people even came of during there tests because of it!!!

Anyway onto my test - we were doing P17Q and got there with lots of time to chill and warm up unlike my last test. Stupid me had lost her numbers so had to borrow some of Worried1 (Thanks) and also forgot my spurs - but warmed up anyway and she wasn't too bad, would have been better with spurs. So go into the long areana, Star decides there is something scary down the bottom end - to be exact there was 2 poxy pheasants, 2 shetlands hooling around and dogs barking, FANTASTIC

Luckily Star finally settled down and we started the test fine and finished ok, god did my legs ache afterwards trying to keep her forwards and not let her spook lol...

Waited round and watched some other tests - Ill let Worried1 tell you about her test. Results were up and we got 60.41% and 2nd place in restricted woo hoo

so very pleased to get that on our first try and if i had my spurs i think we could have got a bit better - the score sheet said something similar. Yay

Very good result, especially considering the distractions.
I've noticed the only time I forget something is when the venue doesn't have a tack shop on site!

Wow that is fantastic! Well done!

What a pain to have all the distractions but great that she settled and went well

Thanks - was very pleased

We did look a bit out of place with all the posh horses as lazy mum here didnt bother to plait lol...next time maybe if i still have her??

No problem!
At least you go done the scary end

Entered Stilebridge so get an entry in and we can go to the area together.

Sunday 19th is affilated, they have one Prelim and Novices and Elementary.
Going to take Hils to Speedgate on the Saturday as they have a PYO and he can do a PSG.

Are you doing the Area 10 Qualifiers? If so I will see you there!! I'm down to do P13 and RT8, but may end up doing a Novice

I might be asking you some advice on bits of the test then when I have had a look at it if that would be ok

Cor, well done, brill start to your BD career.

We'll be at the Area Dressage too. Doing the Novice RT this time as someone, god knows why put me in the Advanced one last year. Had to do 'turn about the forehad' whatever that is. Think we came 5th from last!!
