sheesh I am not covering all the various items that do the same.
What else can I add to mine that you have???

I just keep it simple- hibiscrub, summerfly cream(very good for putting on cuts in summer), sudocreme, fake vetwraps from the pound shop, gamgee, cotton wool, gauzes, tape, iodine and thermometer.

Jesus. You'd need a whole shed for that!

Mine does what it say on the tin: 'first aid'. To make sure he survives until I either get the vet or go off and buy what I need.

Hibiscrub , wound powder/cream, vet wrap, lintex, cotton wool and duct tape cover pretty much all eventualities.

Crikey you are rather well prepared:eek:
Mine is much more limited, I feel that first aid is exactly that, assess, if in doubt call vet, wounds cold hose, if required poultice or dry dressing otherwise leave to scab over. Most things can be dealt with without too much trouble with a basic kit.

So I have poultices
gamgee
cotton wool
salt
hibiscrub
dry dressings of various sizes
bandages of various types
scissors
tweezers
thermometer
wound cream
healing gel
mud fever creams
wound powder
purple spray
syringes
ice tight or similar
danilon
rescue remedy
piriton
sweet itch treatments
other things I never use and cannot remember plus various odds and ends that I have collected over the years, must have a sort out;)

A basic kit in the lorry

At the moment I am treating a post op horse so also have
an abundance of
sterile dressings
softban
vetwrap
sticky plaster
even more danilon
oral anti biotics
im anti biotics ( in case he does not eat )
sedalin

I had one of these

http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wc...ay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=857680

This is what i was doing tonight brought a new storage thing from homebase. Most is what I have collected over the years having 4 equines one does collect some from past injuries. When you treatment is finished you have surplus.
Now brought one of these to go on top of the one above http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wc...ay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=851665
has one shelf and 2 glove pocket storage in each of the doors, great for keeping all first aid safe and clean.

I find that things like wound powder and antiseptic creams go out of date, so when I actually come to use them, I find they are way past their best!!!

I have plenty of vetwrap, animalintex, purple spray, hibiscrub, a couple of ice packs and a thermometer....not a lot else really! If it takes more than that, I need a vet!!!

That pretty much plus Vetricyn, Hoof puncture plus spray, Finadyne (heavy duty painkiller), Domosedan, ACP tablets, Norodine, Danilon, 20 vet wraps, electrolyte pastes, calmer pastes, scalpel blades and a twitch. Oh, and wire cutters and a complete farrier kit. And yes, its all in the lorry with us everywhere and yes i have used nearly all of it when a neighbouring horse used the jockey door to exit the lorry.
