Today is one year exactly since I first started riding. When I announced that I'd started taking lessons a friend commented that I should learn how to fall off. Fall off! I hadn't really considered that! So I decided that I would get through my first year without swapping positions with the horse and Yeeah! I've succeeded. There have been a few close calls I admit but my feet never touched the floor so I'm discounting those including the time I ended up hanging from Tao's neck with one foot hooked on the saddle. There have been several attempts by various mounts to get rid of me and I've learnt that the biting, head butting end is to be respected!
It's been a great year and I've learnt so much about horses and about me. So the journey will continue and I think I should set myself another year target of 'must not fall off'.
Look out for the ' I fell off horse' post now that I've announced my first years achievement.
