Thought I best make the effort to give you lot a report seeing as it was my first ever BE event....

Was on the yard for 5.30 this morning, full of beans and was ready to leave for 6.15. We had a good run up to Pulbourough only took us an hour and 12 mins to get up there in the box. Unloaded Titan and left grandma incharge and went to get my hat tagged ect ect and then walked the cross country course. The cross country was nice and simple with only 4 combinations. The first 4 fences were plan and simple, first tes of control for me was fence 5a/b, telegraph 3 strides, drop down. The next few fences were plain hunter trial fences. Fence 10 a/b would be the only test of control, 2 skinny logs, going round a corner, it was then a gallop on to the water, simple jump 2 strides, step up out. 13 a/b were 2 rolls tops on a slight angle (part b being quite skinny) then a gallop to home, no real question until fence 17, ditch 2 strides uphill to a log with mushrooms and pumkins underneath. 18 a/b were 2 hedges on an angle and then the dash for home.

I was really happy with the xc and knew it wouldn't be the problem

Moved swiftly onto walking the sj course before they managed to start the class. Easy course to remember with nothing really that scary but I never give Titan the benifit of the doubt! Walked the course at some speed and then rushed back to him.

Soon got him ready and looking as smart as I could, touching up the bits of mud that I had missed because I couldn't see in the dark earlier this morning

Wondered down to the nice quiet dressage arenas. He warmed up really well, well apart the fact everytime he caught glimpse of the xc course he lost all concentration on the boring dressage test

They managed to slot me in slightly earlier, only by a couple of horses but I was ready so thought I'd make the best of him going in a nice way

Did a nice test apart from spooky at the 2 boxes we had to go through to go up the centre line and not forgetting that the flower pot down by K was pritty scary!

spooked everytime we went down there, did get better nearer the end of the test though. Came out with a big smile on my face, knew he had done a ok test.

Onto the showjumping, which can be slightly hit or miss sometimes

Walked and trotted round popped over a couple of practise fences and just went straight in the ring to do my round. Jumped 1-6 great, slipped round the corner to 7 which totally threw us so had the back rail of the spread down. Came round to the last double and we had the upright coming out down, totally my fault, going slightly too fast I feel

But was happy, improvement on the last showjumping round I did on him

Xc the bit I'd come for

They were really good with the times and didnt have to hang about at all. Out the start box and we were off! He flew the whole course, listenened to exactly what I was telling him to do and we got round clear

BIG pats and very happy rider.

I've got one more BE90 round this season, Tweseldown. Mega chuffed with my boy tonight, one of my aims when I started unaff. eventing was to do BE was I was 13, and I have managed it, not only that I did an ok dressage and flew xc

Well done! Your post made me laugh as I've just posted my Pulborough report in CR and my horse did exactly the same thing with that bl**dy flower pot at K
