First BE Competition

Hi all - following on from below - I am hoping to do a few BE ODEs next season with my 5/6 year old. I would like somewhere where the going is usually nice and the jumps and usually quite inviting for beginners and babies. Can anyone recommend anywhere - preferably within reasonable distance of Epping (East London/West Essex). If it helps to locate me I am right near Stanford Rivers but they don't seem to do BE any more. I don't have a clue where to start!

I did Poplar Park as my first of the season last year. It's a bit twisty, but I liked it. If you mlook on the BE website the programme is on there, and there's a link to the venue's website. You may even be able to go and school there too.

Little Downham has lots of everything in all sizes. You can school there too, Ely Eventing centre.

I like Isleham but it can have the odd nasty little surprise!

Oasby is nice also South of England is ok.

Quite a long way to go for his first tho or do you think that is a normal distance to go? Never done BE - is both our virgin year - exciting but i've little clue what to expect!

I'm in N Herts and it is an hour of more to every event, average 1.5 - 2 hours. There are no BE events in Herts whatsoever!

i agree, Munstead is a very nice first time intro, nice and straight forward..
