Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what would be a nice 1st intermediate to go to? Im looking for a 'easy' option just to test the water but also without a huge SJ course also. We are midlands based & have had clears at Bradwall, Rodbaston & Somerford novices this year (3 out of 3!)
Main worry is that i dont want to turn up on the day and find out that ive entered a huge event!!

Aston le walls or Spring Hill. Both are good 1st time xc. However SJ will be up to height at both. HAve you thought about going a IN to bridge the SJ gap.

I'm planning my first Int to be Aston or Wilton, I walked round Aston a few weeks ago and was really pleased with the course. There were alternatives at a couple of tricky fences too. I haven't walked Wilton, I'm just going on my trainer's advice.

I did Aston as my first last season and it was really good. There was nothing too scary and long routes if you needed them. I didn't think the showjumping was over-big but I'd done the Intermediate Novice at Hambleden which I thought was huge, so it would have looked small by comparison.

Wilton is nice it is not too complicated. Probably a bit late although I think they are still taking entries Sansaw was a lovely first timers course.

Spring Hill is probs the easiest intermediate I've seen. Wilton is nice, nothing overly technical and whilst it has the big drop with a nasty run down hill and two punishing bounce steps up which never ride comfortably, it doesnt have anything massively huge.

I dont think intermediate is ever easy unfortunately, tis a big step up from novice!
