Well, thought i would join the rest of you and let anyone who is interested know how we did today at Tweseldown.
This is my first affilated event as did a couple on tickets last year and got the bug
So was really chuffed when i got my times ....1210 dressage ,1539 SJ and 1610 XC and as i live about 1.5 hours away which meant didn't have to get up too early hurray!!
So got to yard for 0730 (am very lucky as have a lot of friends at my yard who really encourage me and offer to come and help!!) so Woods already was having his breakfast and mucking out had commenced so all i needed to do was get the lorry(been very organised and had loaded it day before
)
Anyway had to tell his lordship off a couple of times while I plaited him but once told he behaved himself
Finally we got off..on time would you believe
Journey pretty good arrived at Tweseldown at 1045 which gave me an hour to delcare and Chill out !!! very much needed
So warmed up really well went in feeling amazingly calm until i got half way through and then went totally blank!!...Managed to regain calmness
and picked up test to finish with a score of 38.5 which as this is not his lordships favourite past time was pretty pleased
Now SJ...have to say not my favourite although Woods is very good at it ..was very pleasing , had one sticky moment coming into double where i lost my stirrup so got a little left behind but manged to keep my cool and finish clear with a loud cheer from my "possy" that support me.... ahh they are sooo lovely!!
Had a quick change at SJ arena and then got legged up for XC phase.
Was on quite a high after the SJing and think Woods could feel that too so he was a little bit silly so took off my spurs which i had put on for XC and went without.
Best thing i did he flew round took me into every jump so well chuffed with him ...he absolutely loves it
Lost a bit of time as took a bit of a detour...long way up the hill to No7 corner with flower pot which he nearly kicked off with his hind legs, but other than that he really listened and i felt we had a fantastic partnership today
No probs at the water jumped the house then straight through the water and out over house(Woods would be one of those kids with his wellies on jumping up and down in a puddle making the water splash his clothes if he was a human!!
) to finish nice and strong.
Unfortunately and quite amazingly we picked up 9 time faults XC for going too slow so will have to kick on a bit plus make sure i don't detour too much next time
Finshed on a score of 48.5 but DOUBLE CLEAR and came about 14th !!! so really on cloud 9.
Bring on the next one....although got nothing til May now ...may travel to Bicknhall...anyone been there...advice if so ?
