This is currently my second season competing at BENovice level and I’ve successfully completed 6 Novices, all clear XC so far with some top 10 placings. My next goal is to enter for a CCI 2*-S and I am currently looking at Cornbury House International (11th-13th September) or Keysoe International (26th-27th September).

Obviously these are new internationals that haven’t run before so it’s hard to know whether they’ll be on the softer or harder side!

Does anyone have any advice?

Also other than a 1.15m SJ, long arena dressage with sitting trot & more technical xc etc, what other major differences are there? Is the XC longer?

Baybertha I'm not sure if you are on Facebook but the twittereventing group on there is amazing for questions like this.

Definitely practice round a proper 1.15m BSJA course. Maybe do a IN before doing it.
Depends where you are based but either will be fine. The xc tends to be just a slightly more technical novice. Dressage is defintely worth doing lots of test practice. i worked really hard on my accuracy for it and rode through it under test conditions lots due to the impact of two judges on scores.
The only other thing is you need a bridle number on at all times including headcollar, vacs need to be 6 months and you hand passport in before dressage. There is also a vet check.

I would go to Cornbury as 1st choice but Keysoe will have 2 phases on an arena.....
