First CCI-S 2* Opinions

Finalising my eventing plans for the second half of the season and the current three options for my first 2* are either Somerford, Wellington or Cornbury.

My horse and I have successfully completed three seasons at BE Novice and are now looking to have a go at a 2*. I have never been to any of the events above, so wanted to get a feel for what 2* courses are like at each and which in people's opinions are the best for a first timer. TIA!

Wellington has a country fair attached so the showjumping and poss dressage will be buzzy again this year.

I don’t compete but we FJ at Somerford and it always looks a nice, fair track to me. Flowing rather than twisty, and some good, not too testing, terrain. Tend to see lots of the big names bringing their youngsters up for a run which I always think is a good sign!

The xc was nice at Cornbury - the Sjing was technical as the arena was quite small and new turf but the pros made it look easy! Cornbury is a super event though. Would highly recommend - absolutely beautiful.
