Just entered myself for dressage comp on Sunday at another venue,as our Saturday competition will not happens again because not enough entries. So,question is,how do you cope and what do you do if you hacking there and may have a long wait between classes(as last moment entry). Do you take any water, food, headcollar? Do you untack in between classes? Hubby will walk with me on foot to the venue,so cant carry much. Any help and tips welcome. And any tips how to keep Magics canter going, as i entered prelim too(my first one, feeling adventurous) ,and he just breaks into trot after 20m circle. Thanks.:)

Could you take your car to the venue early leave it there and get a lift back to the yard? That way you can take some water, a haynet, headcollar, grooming kit etc.. I have to take my mares bridle off when hanging around as she hasn't quite worked out how to eat grass with her bit in! You might also want to take a lightweight turnout rug to chuck over your saddle if it rains. Good luck and most importantly enjoy your day x
