First comp- plait or not?

Taking my 4yo to his first unaff dressage comp and dont know whether to plait or not...

thought that plaiting might add to the stress of the day, but on the other hand it would get him used to being plaited and then competing, preparing him for the future etc etc ...

any thoughts

i dont see a problem with it as long as they were looose.

it depends really its up to you, have you ever plaited him before?
 
never plaited him before, but plaited others...so dont really know how hed react.
hes a laid back type, but just thought that plaiting might add to time standing in the yard, and then he may get fed up.
 
well i would go with your gut instinct, if its only a local kind of comp which wont really mind if hes plaited or not then i would leave it.
i think its up to you!
