Also posted on AHHO, but hey ho!

Had my first comp today after breaking the leg, and me being ever so sensible and wise decided to go and do an open HT round the same XC course where Jerry threw me off 3 months ago

Took my friends new horse, as she wants me to compete her for her till she has more confidence, the mare is aparently fantastic round xc jumps, and never stops etc... so seemed like a good plan to me.

Got there far too early and they were running late, ended up waiting around for a couple of hours, but the mare just fell asleep so wasnt too stressful (compared to taking Jerry anywhere!) Decided to do the open as anything else was titchy and she is huge, and very capable. The only problem was the first fence which just happened to be the one where me and Jerry had our little 'incident' but I wasnt really bothered, its a nice simple log fence so nothing too scary.

Warmed up really nicely, she rides so big, was sure I must look tiny on her as she is 16.3 and im only 5"2 but hey ho.

Off we set for the first fence and I thought I felt really calm, but Fanta obviously sensed otherwise and got within 20 metres of the log and then said no, resulting in this..

Think I must have been more worried than I realised and it certainly made me come to my senses, and we got over the dreaded log. After that there was no stopping us, she flew the rails and then no. 3 and then annoyingly someone was hiding behind no 4 so we had another hesitation there, but after that she just flew round, jumped the coffin beautifully and landed so long after the first part of a double that she bounced it

Dad managed to get a shot of us over the hangman..

The last few were a bit pathetic, and I thought she might find them too small, but she jumped them the size she wanted them to be

Boundary is never up to hieght, great for the babies but after that it gets a little boring

I'm sure the rears make up for it being boring

How brave are you? Well done and good luck for next weekend. Rosie's bay rears like that sometimes - during the dressage phase
