First cross country coming up advice appreciated

I know there are a few of you on here that compete XC but im doing a hunter trials on the 17th and it will be my FIRST EVER time going out and to say im nervous would be an under statement.

The horse I will be riding is an experienced hunter / jumper/ xc horse.

I was wondering if anyone could offer a nervous first timer any tips????

make sure you know the course well, and just keep a nice pace. It's all experiance :]

plenty of rescue remedy and someone with you who really gives you confidence before you start.

As its your first time and you im guessing just want to get round safely and with no hiccups? I would recommend riding your first xc like you would if you were show-jumping. A nice steady pace and stride correctly into fences. For your first time you dont want to gallop flat out, just take it steady.
