So next week I'm taking my horse to do some xc training, and to get there we have to go by trailer, I've never taken him out in a trailer before so dont have the first clue of what I need (i.e. travel boots, etc)... any help?

No different to travelling in a lorry in regards to protection etc. Just load him up as if it were a lorry and go- pretend nothing has changed :)

Didn't make myself clear, I've never actually travelled him, I bought him from the yard where he is currently kept ( I know he has travelled but it hasn't been for at least 3years ) so I'm very much a novice when it comes to Travel and don't know what is best

Oh ok, I would get someone to help you firstly (might already have this on stand by) and check with old owners how he travelled, i.e. bandages or boots. A lot of horses don't like boots so I would use bandages or nothing at all on mine. Head collar, lead rope and a nice hay/haylage net to keep him occupied :) Too hot for rugs at the moment.

I'd try and getting him walking in and out of the trailer before you go on the training day. Give him his bucket feed and lots of praise in the trailer so he associates it with something nice.
