On Monday I'm doing my first dressage in about 7 years. I'm really nervous. My time isn't the best so I think I'm going to have to come straight out of my cob class, quick bridle change and go straight into the dressage arena.
I've been practising all week on Hattie and one of the boys at work, who learnt my test and started to steer me round it! But I'm still bricking it.

You'll be fine

Enjoy it

You'll be fine. Daisy and I did our first ever test today and we came 4th! I was so proud. Just remember to be really accurate on the markers. When I've been writing for judges I've noticed that alot of people lose easy marks for being early or late on the transition or doing circles that aren't the right size

Was in your shoes 6 weeks ago (and my young horse had never been to a show never mind Dressage tests!!)... I also have been out of it for years...... and surprised my-self at getting 60% and getting into the Combined Championships. so my advise to you is go and enjoy it, never mind who looks at you, take no notice and just try your best, you may surprised your-self...good luck
Let us all no how you got on

At least you won't have to wait around for ages - I always find they go better when they don't have a break!

Just relax and enjoy it - pretend you are just schooling at home and use the movements to improve your horse's way of going.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks guys. I've been practising changing right on the markers. Luckily my test has most of the movement between markers so I don't have to be too accurate.
I no when I get there she will go into dressage mode when she sees the boards but I can't get her like it at home, its all to exciting for her.
