I have my first dressage test this sunday on my 15hh standardbred 12yo mare, it's just a walk and trot test as Kristal naturally paces which makes canter difficult for her, so i hope we don't make fools of ourselves...

Just enjoy it will be over before you know it. The walk trot tests are great for getting horses started on dressage, just relax and keep smiling x

Hello, I have a standardbred mare and know that they are underappreciated, ok they cant canter but thats not a crime. Good luck for your dressage test, you'll be the best, do you know any other horses that have such naturally forward going paces? When I was riding my mare they didn't have walk and trot tests so I never did dressage but i think its brill that your going to do it. Am i getting too excited here? I love standardbreds, dont listen to any stupid people who might come up to you and tell you that your horse is lame or a 'freak' (it happens). Have a great time. Post your result.
