So I've done it! My first Dressage test on my 4 year old. We did Intro A and although not in the ribbons Im very pleased with how she behaved as it was her first ever competition, first time in an indoor school, first time at this venue and first time meeting all the new horses :O

It started off pretty well, I plaited her mane over last night so all I had to do was brush her and roll them up ( all 22 of them ) I was on at 9.15 so our plan was to leave the yard at 7.30 so we had a decent amount of time to warm up/see the sights.....well that went out of the window when she decided standing on the ramp was as far as she was going and nobody was going to persuade her otherwise. Typical. 15 mins later she hopped on like Id been standing there holding up proceedings! Mares!

Anyhoo, she travelled very well, we got to the Venue (WOW!) a little later than planned but we were the first ones there and not a soul was to be seen :( I had to leave my Non- horsey husband with a rather excited/stressed baby horse on the trailer to find out where to park etc, eventually tracked someone down and got ourselves unloaded when a few more people arrived.
Tacked up and took her round to the outdoor to warm up, I lunged her on both reins and she was relaxing nicely when a pony came around the corner and well, she would have Valegro to shame! lol I managed to get on with some help from the young girl on the ponys Granny and managed a trot on both reins before it was time to go in!

Now Pics aren't the best, my lovely husband came with me, he doesn't do horses and Magic scares the crap out of him, he also doesn't really have the eye for photographing horses ( there is definitely a tact to it!)

Waiting to go in

Im really pleased, we got 53.91% I don't know what placing, we didn't get a frilly ( not expected in the slightest!) but I think 7th or 8th out of 12 so not bad with 5s and 6s across the board and very positive comments :)

Next test in Feb, Intro A again but this time we are aiming for a frilly!!! :)

Thanks for looking!!!

Well done you, what a lovely horse, it's always so nerve racking taking a youngster for the first time but she looked as though she was starting to settle at times, once the first one is out of the way it makes it so much easier as you know what to expect.

You both look really smart, you can breathe a sigh of relief now, she looks great in the last photo, all a bit too exciting. Onto the next one.

Well done!!! :D Gorgeous horse!

I have so many photos of Pip doing that exact same giraffe impression! :p

Yup, I just laughed and thought 'Typical!' Stiil we stayed inside the boards, no bucking and if star gazing is our only problem then so be it, we can work on that!!!

Well done missus, I knew you could both do it (and Magic looks super) :)

Onwards and upwards now, there'll be no stopping you!

Thanks! Im glad you saw this I was going to try and text you a pic :) You would have been very impressed how chilled she was, she only had 2 spooky moments, 1. tied up at the trailer, a lorry pulls in to the field so she panics and pulls back snapping the lead rope ( thankfully I always carry a spare :p) and 2. on the 3rd time walking passed a picnic bench she thought this time it looked different and required her gawping at it until I sat on it and she realised it was surrounded by lush grass!!!! Pmsl!

Thanks, im a stickler for a clean horse :D She did have lovely black hooves and white socks but the orange surface took care of that

Well done!

At least your OH doesn't just take gratuitous bum shots like mine (see my report if you don't believe me :p ) so he's doing ok. What a super looking mare :)
