First ever outing!

Hi all, tomorrow is mine and my mares first outing. Neither of us have competed before. We are hackin to our local riding club to pop the starter course. My only concern is how excitable she is going to get around the other horses and everything going on! Shes a hot headed welsh cob. If we don't get to jump I don't care, I just really want the outing to be a positive one. Does anyone have any tips for me???

Be confidence, calm and reassuring for her. My first competition was on my 4 year old Welsh mare and she got really excited about everything - warm up slowly and quietly - maybe have a canter on the way so she gets some oomph out before? And take the course steady - dont rush yourself or her. You'll have a great day and she will have a positive experience. And remember if things don't work out the way you want, dont worry - always next time - just lots of praise
