Pointless point but I am really excited/nervous about my first ridden show this weekend. Never had the opportunity to take a horse out under saddle at a showing show (done dressage a handful of times and in hand shows numerous times).

Any advice for me?? :D

Or any good stories about your first time out.

I find it helps to forget you are in a showing class.. For example, in the go round, pretend you are riding another dressage test, focus on this rather than the judge and the other horses- if your horse feels like its going well it'll look like its going well. Don't rush, take your time- its not the end of the world if you don't canter on/ come back to trot the second the judge asks you to- much better to wait a few strides and get a good, calm transition.

Good Luck and have fun!!

Thank you for that! That has given me something to focus on :D

Stay calm. At my first show, I actually fainted because I was so stressed! Luckily, my horse was a pro and we managed to get a fantastic 2nd place! Good luck!

Oh no! I dont tend to stress to much (famous last words) but never having done a show but my horse that I am riding has done it before and should know what to do lol. He is s stubborn ****** so lots of working it to be done.

Thanks. Hopefully ill be able to put a nice report up afterwards.

Regardless of how well or badly (Me and Bob the nota cob consider that our performance in dressage is for others to measure there performance against ,in the way that a tape measure has a zero)you do , have fun . have a blast!
