Took Piper (all 13.1hh, 18months of brown and white cob) to his very first show today. And he was fabulous

Perfect to bath (need to get used to it - he has white patches and white legs!), perfect to load, traveled perfectly.

Arrived and was a little stressed and strong but quickly calmed down. Spent hours wandering about, chatting to people, being fed polos and munching the grass. Stood nicely at ring edges (whilst Kalli did her classes) and said hi to every horse he could.

Being a good boy at the trailer

He had a minor misdemeaner when I gave him to a friend to hold (very tiny friend - all 4'6 of her) whilst i warmed Kalli up - after being perfectly behaved until that point, he started to p**s about big time - galloping about on the end of his rope, bucking and squealing and leaping, having the time of his life, enjoying himself immensly

I had to get off Kalli to go and rescue to poor girl (who had only just managed to hold him). He'd just got himself all set to start again when a swift smack on the nose put an end to it and he didn't even think about it again.

In the ring (coloured inhand) he was brilliant. Stood patiently in line up, walked calmly round, trotted out when asked (esp good since he only trotted in hand for the first time yest! - still and bit worrying for him) and generally was perfect

Only came 6th- he was against adult horses and the judge clearly prefered the 'proper' horses (cobs all at the bottom) but he was so well behaved it doesn't matter.

He was also wet and a bit muddy - he was spotless on arrival but after hours in the pouring rain (most attrocious weather!) and bouncing about in the mud, he wasn't looking his best.

Kalli also behaved herself perfectly - no issues over leaving Piper (speration anxiety has been a huge problem at shows) and came 5th in childrens inhand with the above tiny friend (judge said she would have been 1st from her manners but she was too big for the girl, J (4'6 J leading 17hh Kalli

).

Also did Potential RDA Horse. Again perfect with J riding, totally unfazed by all the obsticals and things they had to do. She came second, again only because she's just too big for RDA to sidewalk.

Can't change her height!

Gives you and idea of quite how little J is, and how big Kalli is!

I was meant to be doing working hunter and SJ classed wtih her but by then the ground was so wet and slippy we called it a day and went home.

I'm very pleased with him (and her!)

Long may the good behaviour last!
