Bit of background...
Rode as a child, fell off many times and always bounced
Gave up in my teens but dabbled several times over the next couple of decades. Took it up 9 years ago and had group lessons for a year and even thought about getting my own horse then had a bad fall (hairline fracture of the pelvis and serious bruising - week off work) and completely lost my nerve.
Fast forward - a year ago I rode again for the first time since the accident and now I have two horses but yesterday I hit the deck when my Sec. D went over a jump - nicely according to my instructor - but then spooked and bucked at the same time and I ended up eating wood shavings! I was very, very shaken but not really hurt - sore and achy back and neck but almost better today.
I will get back on him tomorrow but am worried that the nerves will kick in and transfer to my boy and it will happen again.
Any tips on getting back after that first fall?
