Hi all,
Had my first fall off Jasper today!! Took him for a walk around a field, he got excited and started bronco-ing - literally jumped up off all 4 feet then put his head between his knees and bucked and reared and bucked some more! I fell unceremoniously in a heap on the floor and he galloped off!
He ran straight back to his stable and was stood there looking like butter wouldn't melt when I go back!
We are both fine and no damage was done (other than to my pride!)
Still trying to figure out what caused it though, he's never behaved like that before. A small lump about the size of a 5p appeared on his neck a little while later, so I did wonder if he's been bitten or stung? He does have some other little lumps under where his numnah sits, so maybe they irritated him? The vet has seen them this morning before we headed out and said they look like a reaction to the washing powder I used to wash his numnah in, but that they shouldn't cause any bother.
Needless to say I got back on and went for a short hack. He was fine after his little adventure!
