My university have a one day event at the end of every year, and Jacob and I won our class last year. However as I’m sure you all saw on the BE website ( ;) ) Riseholme was cancelled due to weather, so some indoor sj/xc was put on instead. Some pictures of my boy looking beautiful!

Jacob has been off work with a re-current pelvic injury so I decided to just pop him round the 75cm for a bit of fun. Some warming up pictures:

Jacob however had misheard my plan for a steady pop round and towed me round at full pelt – even overshooting one fence! (Mostly my fault as I thought I was being clever nipping inbetween two fences until I realised I was meant to be jumping one of them by which point it was too late!). With the first fence down and a ‘refusal’ we still got 4th and I got a lot of banter from my instructor (a college lecturer) about how I was nothing to do with her because of my performance much to the amusement of other students haha. A few pictures:

A funny one to show my lack of breaks after a fence :D

So I was made to go and put his flash on, stop being so nice to him and get my bum back in for the 85cm! Well, what can I say – my boy is amazing! Cruised round for a clear round bang on the optimum time and a win ;D And my instructor shouting and telling everyone that actually I was her pupil now I had done well haha.

And a video of the 85cm too. Just incase you think I’m really strange I shout “whey” after one fence because that was the one I managed to miss last time, and everyone laughs when I jump the straw bales because my instructor said I could have extra points if I didn’t swear and a dodgy stride meant I screamed sugar… much to everyone’s enjoyment!

CC welcome … I know that I am pretty dire :D Can anybody give me any tips to stop having the first fence down? He just dallys in to it at whatever speed he likes and we constantly have it down and it’s very annoying!!! As you can see on this video he was lucky not to have it down and he got a smack to wake up afterwards. Finally, does anybody think any of the pro pictures are nice enough to buy??

Cup of tea and rich tea biscuits all round!

He is lovely! Well done :)

If you don't mind me asking where are you at uni what are you doing and how have you managed to fit horses in with your course? Trying to work out what my options are with my boy next year.

I'm at Lincoln doing Equine Science. Luckily as my course is 'horsey' and I live on a rural campus, there is a D.I.Y. yard here which makes life much easier.

Basically, I don't go out anywhere near as much as anybody else, I don't buy much new stuff and I go to bed way earlier and get up way earlier than anybody else. But I don't mind :)

Thanks, I'm hoping to do geography or something similar so not a horsey course and really want to take my boy but really struggling to figure out how! I think I could cope with not buying much/ having a fab social life seeing as I have 3 horses at home anyway just the time and financial side of it.... :s

Out of interest where are you looking at do ing geography? Just because certainly at my university the geography students don't have the heaviest of timetables compared to a lot of students and I managed to fit the horse in on DIY whilst do a joint honours degree :) def doable if it's what you want!

O really?! Where are you at uni? Not that sure, want to stay some where in the south west (I'm from Cornwall) need to get to lots of open days really.
