my sec d mare had her filly on monday afternoon she is black with 3 white socks in these photos she is 5 hours old

its my first foal we have one more mare to foal down any day
 
thankyou everyone mum looks after her well and today i swaped fields so they have the tree line to shelter her from the wind so she dont get too cold from the rain.
 
Keep a close eye. Foals are very succeptible to the cold and wet, as they have no grease in their coats. Do you have a stable they could come in to whilst we have all this awful rain around?
 
no stable yet still waiting for planning,i keep a close eye on them my mare is a bit scared of things if she sees something she is not sure of she will not go near,my oh says they will be fine the mum will know where to put her.

my foal was fine turned out in the rain! if your worried though just pick up little foalie turnout rug just to keep worst off the foalie, also gets foalie used to bein rugged up!! dont get anythin to heavy as you dont want a wimpy foal!.......have you named her yet???
 
not yet im still thinking of a name only thought of one kalli short for kallico the black stone or the full name kallico not sure yet still thinking
 
sound like a nice name. i'm busy thinkin of names and my mare aint had her 17day scan yet!!!!................have managed to get passport/showin name but tottaly stuck on stable name!! think i'm gonna have to wait till its here!!!
 
you have plenty of time to think of one then,i didnt even think of any when she was carrying i still have to think of a reg name yet as well im having to go with my oh son in laws stud name or wait untill i have a name for one.
 
i know i've go ages but tryin to find things that will tie mares name (bracken) and the stallions name (country top dollar)!!.......so far got Phlox and Willow as they is both a type of plant!!
 
thankyou we are thinking if she dont go black she may be a very dark bay we will have to see.,i do like dark bays.
