First foal of Amaretto D'arco

This morning at 2.30am, the first foal of Amaretto D'arco was born in Belgium out of an Etretat (Big Ben) mare.

'Joletta Darc van Arenberg'a dark brown filly, made her debut a day after her papa 'Amaretto' came 7th in the 5* grand prix with Shane Sweetnam in Florida behind 'Sapphire' (also Darco) and McClain Ward.

She is a beauty! You must be very pleased. Out of interest, is the mare directly by Etretat??? Didn't think there would be many direct sons/daughters around anymore.
 
Yes,direct 'Etretat' daughter,she is 23 now and jumped 1.40 with me and was then sold to a junior to do 1.30s,I bought her back to breed from and she is the mother of 'Amai' (Cameron Hanley) amongst others. Incidently I rode her home from my church wedding back in 1995!....
Quite an emotional experience for me,having ridden both 'mummy' and 'daddy'!!!
